When the firmware update is complete, the system automatically reboots. Update the firmware on each service processor (SP) and/or Chassis Monitoring Module (CMM) in the system using the CLI or the web interface.Ħ. Log in as any user with Administrator privileges.ĥ. Copy the image to a TFTP server for a CLI update or to a local file system for a web interface update.Ĥ. When updating to a later firmware release, the preserve configuration option (when enabled) saves your existing configuration in ILOM and restores the configuration after the update process is completed.ģ.This causes ILOM to reboot with the currently installed version of ILOM firmware. A network failure during the firmware file upload results in a time-out.During this time, no other tasks should be performed in ILOM.


The update process requires less than 20 minutes to complete. Wait until after the update succeeds before making further ILOM configuration changes. To ensure a successful update, do notattempt to modify the ILOM configuration, or use other ILOM Web, CLI, SNMP, or IPMI interfaces, during the flash update process.

No other tasks can be performed in ILOM until the firmware upgrade is complete and the ILOM is reset. If a graceful shutdown is not possible, ILOM forces a shutdown, which could cause filesystem corruption.Ĭaution - ILOM enters a special mode to load new firmware. ILOM attempts to shut down the OS gracefully. Review these cautions and these guidelines when updating the firmware.Ĭaution - Shut down your host operating system before proceeding.
